China, “they are preparing the army for war”: what Xi’s purges hide

The Chinese People’s Liberation Army began preparations for war. The person who wants a conflict would be Xi Jinping, who has long been committed to removing commanders who are not in favor of this choice or who are unsuitable. This, at least, is what Business Insider reveals, which once again proposed the analyzes of all the experts that overturn what was previously revealed by American intelligence. The Chinese president “is trying to take control of the military and, in my opinion, thinks he needs commanders prepared to really fight,” said Gordon Chang, an expert at the Gatestone Institute.

From what we have learned, the difference of opinion among the ranks of the army is evident. Many would support the war plan, but many others would reject this hypothesis. “The military is led by authorities who doubt the idea of conflict,” Chang added. But there is more. Precisely these internal differences would be the basis of the purges carried out in recent months among Beijing’s military leaders.

Until now, at least according to Washington’s 007 reconstructions, the Chinese purges were thought to be linked to the anti-corruption campaign launched by Xi immediately after coming to power in 2013. However, according to Joel Wuthnow, an expert at the National Defense University in Washington DC, the objective of eradicating corruption in the country, particularly in the defense sector, advances together with the desire to start a war on the part of the leader in Beijing.
