On Wednesday, January 17, around 9:50 p.m., the criminal attack that ended the life of Diego Andrés Giraldo Salazar, 28 years old and known by the nickname ‘Bad Life’, was committed in the Carlos Meisel neighborhood.
Authorities recorded that the victim remained at 74th Street and 23C Avenue when an unknown subject approached him and shot him in the head.
After the collision, the victim was helped by acquaintances, who transported him on a motorcycle to the Hospital in the La Manga district, in the same jurisdiction.
It was these people who told the police at the entrance to the care center that a person nicknamed ‘Maikol’ had called Diego Andrés and then hit him once on the head.
After the victim’s death was reported at the hospital, authorities confirmed that he had several court citations on his file in the oral and accusatory criminal system: two for illegal possession of a firearm from May 2014 and March 2023; four for aggravated theft from January 2011, July 2015, September 2015 and November 2022, and three for possession of narcotics from June 2013, October 2013 and March 2022.
It should be mentioned that the death of ‘Mala vida’ occurred 24 hours after the crime of Wilmer Antonio Ospino Villalba, a young man of only 18 years old who was shot in his house, located at Carrera 22B No. 73-113, in Nueva Colombia, very close to the murder of Diego Andrés Giraldo.
Police indicated that a passionate issue would be the main motive for the murder of this young man who was shocked while watching television. However, members of the Sijín are investigating whether both cases are related to the micronarcotics trade.
On Wednesday, authorities tried to verify information provided by relatives and neighbors of the victim that was linked to the perpetrator of the criminal attack. This would be a subject known under the alias El Cachaco and, according to police records, he would also have murdered 21-year-old Michael Antonio Ospino Villalba, Wilmer’s brother, on December 8, 2022.
