North Korea tests “nuclear attack” submarine superdrone

North Korea says it tested an underwater nuclear attack drone in response to a combined naval exercise between South Korea, the United States and Japan this week. Pyongyang says the drone was designed to target enemy ships and ports. Tensions on the Korean Peninsula are at their highest point in years, with Kim threatening nuclear conflict and the United States and its Asian allies responding by stepping up combined military exercises. According to what was reported by the North Korean Ministry of Defense, later reported by the state news agency KCNA, the exercises by Japan, the United States and South Korea “seriously threaten the country’s security, which is why we carried out a major test of the Haeil-5-23 nuclear submarine system under development in the East Korean Sea.”

A few days ago, during a speech at the Supreme People’s Assembly, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un said it had become impossible for Pyongyang to pursue reconciliation and peaceful reunification with Seoul, which he described as “first-class puppets.” of external powers obsessed with conflicting maneuvers. He then asked the assembly to rewrite the country’s constitution to define South Korea as the North’s “principal and invariable enemy.” Kim added that the new constitution should specify that North Korea pursues the goal of “occupying, subduing and recovering” South Korea as part of its territory if another war breaks out on the Korean Peninsula. He also ordered the removal of previous symbols of inter-Korean reconciliation, to “completely eliminate concepts such as ‘reunification,’ ‘reconciliation,’ and ‘compatriots’ from the national history of our Republic.”
