Gaza, 21 Israeli soldiers killed in one day: the tragic number

A new tragic report on the war in the Middle East. In fact, 21 Israeli soldiers died yesterday in Gaza alone: it is the highest number of daily casualties since the start of the conflict, provided this morning by IDF spokesman Daniel Hagari. Most of yesterday’s victims, he explained, were killed by a rocket explosion that hit a warehouse and a building previously mined by the army to demolish them. The military was preparing explosives to demolish two buildings in central Gaza when a Hamas militant fired a rocket at a nearby tank and blew it up, resulting in chain explosions. The two buildings collapsed while Israeli soldiers were inside them.

In particular, soldiers were operating in an area approximately 600 meters from the border, involved in destroying Hamas structures and sites as part of an effort to create a buffer zone and allow residents to return to their homes. According to Hagari, the explosion was probably caused by mines placed by troops to demolish the buildings, but an investigation is still underway to better determine the circumstances.
