Aviva Siegel, one of the Israeli hostages released by Hamas, reported to the Knesset, the Israeli parliament, that women and even men who are still prisoners are raped in the tunnels under the Gaza Strip. «Terrorists wear clothes that are not suitable for girls, they dress them like dolls. They turned the girls into their dolls, with which they can do whatever they want. And it’s incredible that they’re still there”, said the woman, who was kidnapped from her home in Kibbutz Kfar Aza along with her husband Keith, still held hostage in Gaza, and her daughter Shir, who was by her side in court. “I want to say that children also go through these things, they can’t get pregnant, but they also go through it,” she insisted. “And something has to change now. I would like to go back as a hostage to protect those girls, like I did when I was there . I felt like they were my daughters.”
The macabre testimony was also confirmed by another former hostage present at the event, Chen Goldstein Almog: «There are many girls who did not menstruate. Maybe that’s why we should pray, that the body will somehow protect them so that, God forbid, they don’t get pregnant.” Aviva’s daughter, Shir, publicly stressed to MPs that her mother’s testimony was “just the tip of the iceberg” and objected to the fact that there were no ministers in the chamber to hear the stories, also urging Knesset members to do more to free the other hostages still in the hands of Hamas.
