Israel accused of genocide. There is a ruling from the tribunal in The Hague

Israel must take all necessary measures to prevent genocide in the Gaza Strip, the International Court of Justice has demanded.

Israel must ensure that its forces do not commit genocide in the Gaza Strip. The ICJ should also take measures to improve the humanitarian situation.

The ICJ has not ordered a ceasefire

The Court has not ordered a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, according to the Associated Press.

South Africa has filed a complaint with the International Court of Justice, accusing Israel of genocide against the Palestinians. The ICJ began investigating the complaint on January 11.

The plaintiffs asked the judges to impose binding preliminary injunctions on Israel, including an immediate halt to the Israeli military operation in the Gaza Strip.

Hamas attack, Israeli invasion

The vast majority of the victims of Israel’s campaign in the Gaza Strip are civilians. The local Ministry of Health announced in mid-January that the death toll was already above 25,000. people. It is estimated that 90 percent of the Gaza Strip’s more than two million residents have had to leave their homes.

Let us not forget that the Israeli-Palestinian conflict escalated after Hamas’s attack on Israel. Hamas is a political party and at the same time a radical Islamic and terrorist organization whose main goal is the liberation of Palestine from Israeli occupation.

On October 7, the al-Qassam Brigades (the armed branch of Hamas) launched a rocket attack and then invaded Israeli territory in many places, hitting more than twenty cities. For this purpose, use was made of, among other things: paragliders and underground tunnels. The victims were Israeli citizens and officials. The mujahideen killed at least 1,300 people and took about 200 hostages.

In response, Israeli authorities declared war on Hamas and launched bombings and then a ground invasion of the Gaza Strip. They indicate that the strategic objective of the operation is the elimination of Hamas and the permanent neutralization of the threat from this direction to the State of Israel. Military experts indicate that fighting between Israeli forces and Hamas could continue for several months.
