Two boys were shot dead just meters from their school. We’re in Chicago and the shooting occurred shortly after 12:25 local time near Washington Street and Wabash Avenue. According to local media reports, the victims were 16 and 17 years old. They were exposed to bullets while walking away from the building with their other friends from Innovation High School.
It appears that a group of at least six people, with their faces covered and guns in their hands, opened fire on young people getting out of two cars. Witnesses said they heard at least a dozen gunshots. The children were rescued and taken to Northwestern Memorial hospital, but their injuries were so serious that doctors could not save them. One girl was grazed by a bullet but was not injured.
