But at the moment we can train any number of recruits, says the military officer.
Nikoliuk said it is 20 percent for now. troops were trained abroad and the rest in Ukraine. The major general added that in terms of combat experience, Ukraine is several years ahead of those training the country.
– Of course we share this experience, but we must remember that it does not stand still. Every war changes and these subtleties must be taken into account, Nikoliuk said.
Infantry highly desirable
When asked which specialists are currently most in demand in the army, the major general replied that the infantry.
– It is the infantry that advances, attacks, digs in, takes positions, enters enemy positions and repels the enemy. The most extensive training in the army is infantry training. Without diminishing the role of drone operators, tankers, artillerymen, mortar operators and all others, this is of course very important. But today it’s the infantry, he said.
On December 19, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that the army proposed mobilizing an additional 450,000 to 500,000 troops. people, but this problem has not yet been definitively solved.
