Parachute does not open, jumper who jumped from the 29th floor died

Base jumper Nathy Odinson, known for her world-wide stunts on social media, passed away after attempting her latest feat. He decided to jump from the 29th floor of a building in Pattaya, Thailand’s seaside resort, but his parachute failed to open and the 33-year-old died instantly.

The tragedy occurred on the evening of January 27. The alarm went off around 7.30pm, but by the time help arrived there was nothing that could be done for Odinson. The parachute, which did not fully open, was found next to him. According to the statement, the young man first hit a tree while falling, and then fell to the ground violently.

Base jumper’s last moments

A local man told British media: “I heard the sound of the tree and thought it was a branch falling to the ground. Then a woman screamed, I came closer and realized it was a person.” In the images taken from the building’s cameras, you see the base jumper wandering around the building and then sneaking inside with his friend who shot the last video.

Odinson’s brother, quoted: GuardianHe reported that the footage showed the mini pilot’s parachute was caught in his seatbelt, meaning he “had no chance” of opening.

“The parachute the victim used to jump was not working properly and was not centered as intended,” he said. Forensic officers are investigating the incident in more detail by examining the parachute.”
