An apparent robbery attempt was foiled on Sunday afternoon by an armed individual at Calle 84 and Carrera 51, specifically near the parish of Nuestra Señora de las Gracias de Torcoroma, north of Barranquilla.
According to witnesses, two men with firearms, whose identities are still unknown, attempted to rob a restaurant in the area.
In the midst of the offense, a person inside the establishment also pulled out a weapon and attempted to thwart the attack.
After the hail of shots between the two, one of the alleged criminals was wounded in his humanity. The other managed to flee.
The Barranquilla Metropolitan Police responded to the call from citizens and approached the location to arrest the suspect and later take him to a care center.
