Once again we have been caught by social surveillance. The well-known Brazilian drug trafficker Ronald Roland, suspected of supplying drug cartels in Mexico and running a mega money laundering scheme with front companies, has been arrested by the federal police due to a mistake made by the man’s wife, Andrezza de Lima Joel. According to local media, the woman activated geolocations to share her vacation photos on social media, effectively revealing the whereabouts of herself and the friend she was looking for.

Ronald Roland, 50, was caught and arrested by the Federal Police in Guarujá (São Paulo) on Tuesday, July 2, after two years on the run. What betrayed him was the desire for showiness of his second wife, who often shares on Instagram her husband’s private jet trips and her travels from Dubai to the Maldives, via Colombia and France. The police launched an offensive in seven states to capture Ronald Roland, seizing money, jewelry, weapons, 34 cars, a boat and two planes. He was also handcuffed, along with eight other people.
This is not the first time the 50-year-old man has ended up being handcuffed due to his wife’s social “immorality.” He was caught in 2019 after being placed on Interpol’s red list, after his first wife posted on social media their whereabouts in the Eastern Zone of São Paulo. At the time, the drug trafficker had undergone facial plastic surgery. It’s a recurring nightmare for Roland, who has been arrested twice in the same way.
