Shots were fired at Donald Trump’s rally in Pennsylvania. The former president was quickly evacuated from the stage. Photos and footage show the politician being scratched around the ear.
The attempted attack occurred during Donald Trump’s speech. At one point, the former president grabbed the side of his head and fell to the ground. Screams of fear were heard from those attending the event. When the politician stood up, he waved to the crowd. He was then quickly evacuated from the scene. The Secret Service said the attacker and one of the rally attendees were dead, and two other people who attended were injured.
Trump spoke
A few hours after the attempted attack, Donald Trump spoke out on social media on his social networking site Truth Social. The former US president thanked the Secret Service for its quick response. “I want to express my condolences to the family of the person who died at the rally, as well as to the family of another person who was seriously injured. It is unbelievable that something like this could happen in our country. For now, there is no information about the attacker, who is already dead,” he wrote.
“I was shot with a bullet that pierced the upper part of my right ear. I knew immediately that something was wrong, I heard a whistle, shots and immediately felt the bullet piercing the skin. There was a lot of bleeding and then I understood what was happening,” we read.
Biden: That’s sick
US President Joe Biden also spoke about the attempted assassination of Donald Trump. “What happened is sick, everyone must condemn political violence,” he said in a televised statement. Biden also announced that he planned to contact his rival in the presidential election.
Joe Biden stressed that there is “no place for this kind of violence” in America. – This is sick. We have to unite this country. We cannot allow this to happen. This is not who we are. We cannot tolerate this,” Biden said in a brief appearance before cameras at his vacation home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. – The thought of political violence happening in America is unthinkable (…) Everybody, everybody has to condemn it, everybody, everybody — he added.
