Pagers that media say are being used by Hezbollah members in Lebanon have exploded en masse. According to preliminary information, the Iranian ambassador to Beirut, Mojtaba Amani, has been injured.
Today in Lebanon, several dozen devices used by Hezbollah fighters for mutual communication exploded simultaneously. According to preliminary data, about 2,750 people were injured and 8 people were killed.
Pager explosions
Reports of casualties from the explosion are coming from the southern suburbs of the capital Beirut and the south of the country. Hezbollah is linking today’s events to the actions of the Israeli secret services, who reportedly managed to infiltrate the organization’s ranks and plant explosives in pagers.
The Israeli authorities did not comment on the case. At the same time, Israeli Telegram channels are posting photos and videos of wounded men (apparently the owners of the pagers). There are also videos available of the moments of the explosion, which were captured by external surveillance cameras on the streets and in shops.
Israeli media reports that there is currently huge chaos and confusion in Lebanon. The number of victims with severed limbs is almost 1,000. One of the most common cases are injuries to the genitals. This is due to the fact that men kept beepers in their pockets.
According to media reports, Iran’s ambassador to Lebanon, Mojtab Amani, was also injured in the pager explosion.
Let us not forget that Hezbollah announced in late August that it would fire more than 320 rockets and several drones at Israel. This involved the shelling of eleven military bases in the north of Israel. A video of a drone crashing on a highway has surfaced on the Internet.
The media reported that Israel’s air defense system, navy ships and air force aircraft protected the airspace above the country, detecting and intercepting Hezbollah’s missiles and drones.
