Kamala Harris broke her silence. She made her first public appearance after losing the presidential election.
The US vice president, who lost the presidential race, gave a speech at Howard University. She promised a peaceful transfer of power after the presidential elections. – While I recognize the victory in this election, I do not consider the struggle that this campaign has sparked as lost, she said.
“I want to say that today my heart is full of gratitude for the trust you have placed in me,” Harris said, thanking her family and President Joe Biden.
– I am extremely proud of this race and the way we participated in these elections. Our campaign lasted 107 days and during that time we spoke very clearly about uniting people united by love for country, said Kamala Harris.
– We must accept the results of these elections. I spoke with President-elect Trump and congratulated him on his victoryI also said that we would help him and his team take power and that we would participate in the peaceful transfer of power, she said.
Harris: It’s time to roll up your sleeves
– If I admit that I lost the election, then… I have not lost the fight that drove us. It is a fight for freedom, opportunity, justice and dignity of every human being. Fighting for the ideals that are at the core of our nation. I will never give up this fight for a future where Americans can achieve their dreams, ambitions and aspirations. Where American women can freely make decisions about their own bodies and not have to listen to what the government tells them to do,” said Harris.
– I said many times during the campaign that if we fight, we win. But sometimes this fight takes some time. The most important thing is to never give up and continue this fight, the Democratic candidate emphasized. She called on her voters to “never stop trying to make the world a better place.” – This is not the time to give up. Now is the time to roll up your sleeves. Now is the time to organize, mobilize and remain committed to freedom, justice and the future we all know we can build together, Kamala Harris concluded.
