Of the dangers in life, few are as deadly as a high-powered car driven at excessive speed by an inexperienced driver with a co-pilot pushing him beyond the limits of prudence. We have been seeing something similar in Mexico since October 1 last year.
The legal debate over the cataract of constitutional reforms that 4T carried out in 68 days, as well as those that have accumulated over the rest of this year, has left aside an analysis of the consequences of this speeding. To follow the metaphor, it is very likely that as a result of each of these reforms, we will see serious damage to various walls of national life in the short term.
The destruction of the judicial system, both state and federal, continues in full swing, although it is impossible to predict what will happen to the more than 3.5 million federal trials.
Let’s imagine what will happen if 4T decides to fire all the doctors at the National Medical Center and, within 7 months, replace them with those chosen by the people. It is likely that many of those affected will immediately begin looking for work, while others will continue to work without incentive or prospects. The predictable outcome is that most patients will die before the people’s chosen doctors arrive, and those who survive will die due to the incompetence of the newcomers.
Something similar is happening with justice in Mexico. The suspension of PJF workers has paralyzed legal proceedings in courts and tribunals, including the SCJN. The strike has added to the early retirement of hundreds of judges and magistrates, with those remaining preparing their bags for departure in August 2025, when the people’s elected representatives arrive, or in August 2027, after the second massacre.
When the replacement of the federal justice system is completed in September 2027, there will be no one to explain to the people elected the status of cases in the resolution process, the methodologies and techniques of a judge or magistrate. , internal organization of a district or collegiate court. To handle the first replacement of about 900 representatives of justice, the 4T will include 3 ministers who have agreed to be candidates and will receive automatic approval, possibly also with 6 new ministers, 2 women and 4 men, who are expected to have a profile similar to the self-proclaimed one “People’s Minister” To them should be added the retired minister with a lifetime pension, Arturo Saldivar.
The destruction of the judiciary must also be carried out at any cost within the 32 federal entities. No one yet knows how many people will be affected, how the 32 elections will be organized and conducted, or how much they will cost.
However, it appears that the 4T won’t have enough gas to make it to the finish line. Someone told the driver that 7 billion pesos was enough.
But mechanics (INE) are asking almost double the price. The money is supposed to come from the PJF trusts, but it must also come from there to liquidate hundreds of judges and magistrates and thousands of workers in this department whose labor rights are “guaranteed.” In 2022, the budget for the revocation of the mandate was cut, INE implemented it with money that 4T authorized. When it became known how many people came to vote, the current co-pilot blamed INE.
But even if the 4T approves 13.4 billion additional pesos for the INE (the institution’s total expenditure will exceed 40 billion in 2025), this does not mean that Election Day on June 2 next year will be a success. . What can be foreseen is that there will be even more abstentions than what we saw in 2022 with the revocation of the mandate (85%) and that the elections will be a chaotic process. In the most optimistic simulations, each voter will take an average of half an hour to vote for the 6 ballots they receive. The chaos will extend to the counting and tallying of polling stations, the filling of protocols and the transfer of electoral packets to the INE headquarters. This is a model developed by a sorcerer’s apprentice.
The designer decided to use a system of locked and unlocked lists. Closed because the voter cannot add candidates to the lists, second because on each ballot they must mark and indicate the order of the names of the candidates for whom they vote. For example, on the ballot for ministers of court there will be 81 names, from which each voter must choose 5 women and 4 men, indicating the order of priority: 1 to 5 and 1 to 4. On the ballot for district judges there may be from 200 to 400 The voter will have to select names and rank them by gender. Each voter will receive 6 ballots. With an average participation of 15%, 16 to 20 people will vote at each polling station; if each voter takes half an hour to fill out 6 ballots, it will take 8 to 10 hours; If they take longer or vote more, there will be a crash.
The answer to the question of why they did this is that now former President Lopez Obrador never thought that his initiative would be approved by Congress, so all the madness was accepted. Others say he never read what he signed. The versions do not contradict each other. The truth is that the person who signed the bad design is today the co-driver of the speeding car. The driver follows their directions, having no idea where they are going.
