Lithuanian diplomacy will be led by Kestutis Budrys, presidential adviser on national security. The Ministry of Defense will be headed by Dovile Szakeliene. The new ministers will be sworn in next week, after parliament (Seimas) has approved the government program.

The new Minister of the Interior of Lithuania will be Pole Władysław Kondratowicz, director of the local administration of the Vilnius district, affiliated with the Lithuanian Social Democratic Party. The nomination was received with enthusiasm by the Polish community in Lithuania.
Władysław Kondratowicz was born in 1972 in Niemież, Vilnius District. He graduated in management and administration from Vilnius University of Technology. Gediminas. Since the 1990s he has worked in various positions at private companies. In 2007 he joined Poland’s electoral campaign in Lithuania. From 2007 he was head of the investment department and deputy director at the Vilnius District Administration. In May 2023, Mayor Robert Duchniewicz appointed him administrative director of the Vilnius region.
Kondratowicz is not the first Pole to hold a high position in the Lithuanian state administration. In recent years, ministerial positions in Lithuania have been held by, among others, Jarosław Niewierowicz (energy), Jarosław Narkiewicz (communications), Rita Tamasuniene (home affairs) and Ewelina Dobrowolska (justice).
After October’s parliamentary elections, the new Lithuanian coalition government will consist of three parties: the Lithuanian Social Democratic Party (52 seats in the Sejm), Świt Niemen (20 seats) and the Democratic Union “In the Name of Lithuania” (14 seats). .
