The Russians will not buy real estate in Finland

The Finland government has submitted a proposal to prohibit the purchase of real estate by citizens of countries who perform aggressive activities.

The Finland government made a ban on Thursday to buy real estate by citizens of countries who wage aggressive wars. In practice, this would mean that real estate transactions are blocked by Russian citizens.

This proposal assumes that citizens of countries are prevented “wage an aggressive war and pose a potential threat to the national security of Finland” that buy real estate in the country.

Russia is not direct, although it is

“The government has just decided to ban a request to parliament to prohibit real estate transactions by Russians in Finland,” the Finnish Minister of Defense told Antti Hakkans to reporters. – Our goal is to strengthen the safety of Finland and the Finnish people – he added.

Although the bill does not immediately state Russia, the Hakkans said that the current safety conditions mean that “Russia, citizens and Russian companies are those who are concerned.” Finland, which borders Russia, blocked various transactions of the purchase of real estate last year by the Russian people, stating threats for national security.

According to Hakkanen, the bill is intended to prevent the use of real estate for “hostile influences on large -scale”, such as collecting intelligence and potential sabotage.

Restrictions would not apply to persons with a permanent residence permit in Finland or a long -term residence permit in the European Union issued by Finland.

To prevent the celebration of the regulations by the so -called dead buyers – when someone buys the property on behalf of another person to hide the true identity of the buyer – the provisions Act contains the requirement for a permit available – the ministry has informed.

Parliament must vote on the law this spring.
