Most corona measures were revised, including the one and a half meter rule on March 15. But the government still says 1.5 meters is a “safe distance”. “Make space for yourself, even when you visit each other at home and at work”, the website reads.
From shaking hands to boxing
This advice was clearly not given to King Willem-Alexander and his family. He started shaking hands, but it quickly turned into a boxing match: “Easier.” Queen Máxima and princesses Amalia, Alexia and Ariane also shake hands with the audience.
The contribution of all this to the celebration was expressed by the king himself as follows: “Being locked up for two years and not being able to do what you want, and then immediately having the opportunity to do it together in freedom and peace. He can. † Celebrate it together throughout the Netherlands. Last night, all King’s nights and all festivities, all free markets. (…) We are amazed that we can do this and that we should be grateful.”
so much fun
It was obvious that they were enjoying themselves, all the royal in attendance enthusiastically participated in the events being held. Princess Amalia assisted artist duo Lucas & Steve during their DJ sets. The DJs played a short set with Princess Amalia taking care of the special effects. Meanwhile, the royal family, including Amalia’s sisters and parents, danced merrily to the music.
And they should be free, but in the end King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima jumped in with passers-by and dancers. The festive mood was still good: shortly before the dance Willem-Alexander and Máxima also tasted a Limburg liqueur.
