Day podcast: Who still wants to become a member of the Oranjevereniging? †

From walking around the open market to eating cookies on a leash: there are many traditions on King’s Day. But that tradition is under pressure: Orange associations are finding it increasingly difficult to organize the party because so few people help.

The Oranjevereniging van Weesp has therefore had to let things take their course this year. And some municipalities don’t even celebrate King’s Day at all. Popular cultural scientist Ineke Strouken says: podcast of the day How important is the King’s Day tradition and that the old Dutch party has the solutions to be able to continue to exist in all its glory.
