Police arrest dozens of arms dealers in Poland and the Netherlands

The Dutch and Polish police, together with Europol, arrested a Polish gang that sent weapons to customers by post. The arrests took place on April 25, but were only just announced by Europol.

In the Netherlands raids were carried out on Beverwijk and Heemskerk. A Polish suspect has been arrested, but his identity has not been released. He said he had played a supporting role in the operation led by the Dutch police, the Polish police and Europol.

In Poland, police searched about 300 places and arrested 81 people. A total of 250 weapons were seized in the operation.

The investigation has been going on for two years. The arrested gang members are of Polish nationality. They partly operated from the Netherlands, where the head of the organization was also located. The gang often ordered the deactivation of legal and illegal weapons and stored them in the Netherlands.
