This is not the first photo of a black hole, a photo of a more distant black hole was already shared in April 2019, but this is the black hole of our galaxy. Not that it’s close: It’s 27,000 light-years away.

But what do you actually see in this photo? The plate is actually a composite of several interconnected telescopes, called the Event Horizon Telescope. This is the middle dark area where the surrounding light particles are absorbed.
