The Belgian police have arrested two Dutchmen suspected of setting off two fireworks at a house in Deurne, near Antwerp, Belgium. They would do that last night.
The VRT reports that fireworks were fired from a car. Thanks to camera images and witness statements, the suspects were arrested shortly after the incident. No casualties. There was no damage to the house where the fireworks were thrown.
On Wednesday there was also an explosion in the house, which damaged the front door and the roof of the veranda. Even then no one was injured. The Antwerp prosecutor’s office said it is investigating a link with the drug scene.
Gazet van Antwerpen (GvA) writes that the affected house belongs to a family that is more associated with drug trafficking. They are also more likely to be the target of attacks. The two brothers are involved in major drug cases involving the importation of large quantities of cocaine, which will be brought to trial in Antwerp in the coming months. The two brothers no longer live in Belgium.

According to the GvA, a brother in the criminal world is accused of stealing cocaine. His photo was sent to the Belgian media several times saying that he was offered a reward for any information about him.
In December 2018, an explosive device was detonated by unidentified persons in a family member’s car on the same street where fireworks were set off yesterday and Wednesday.
Two years later, another family home came under machine-gun fire. Many suspects in connection with the attack were arrested. They will soon appear in court.
