Texas shooter went ‘shooting at elementary school’ after arguing with grandma

According to de Vries, Ramos was bullied at primary school because he was sloppy and wore different clothes than other children. As he entered high school, he became more introverted. As far as we know, there was no father in the photo. A friend of his mother told NBC News that he sometimes argued with his mother. So two months ago she moved in with her grandparents who could take better care of her.

Ramos did not finish high school. People knew him from the fast food restaurant where he worked. It gave the impression of uncertainty. “He often looked down, did not dare to look people in the eye,” says De Vries. “At the same time, he may be aggressive towards female staff members and send them hateful text messages.”

He liked to talk about weapons. On May 17, the day he turns 18, he buys a semi-automatic weapon with his birthday money and a second one a few days later. This was possible because the state of Texas passed a law last year that made this possible under certain conditions for 18-year-olds.

“It was her grandmother who attacked first,” said De Vries. “We understand she had an affair with him and shot him in the head. Then he grabbed his car and drove to Robb Elementary.”

CNN spoke to a 15-year-old girl in Germany, whom Ramos met on social media on May 9. On Tuesday, she texted that she was arguing with her grandmother: “Boring.” Six minutes later: “I shot my grandmother in the head.” And after a few seconds, “I’m going to take a tour of an elementary school.” It was 11:21 am local time.

Juan Carranza lives opposite the school. He saw Ramos park his car in a ditch, take one of his rifles and shoot two people at the funeral home opposite the school. They managed to escape unharmed. He may also have shot a guard at a school, but witnesses differ on this. He fired at the two officers who came urgently from inside. Both officers were injured.

Then he entered a classroom with children aged 9 and 10. “He locked the door and started shooting at students and teachers,” a Texas security official told CNN.

A survivor of the incident told CBS broadcaster how the attacker behaved:
