They encourage black men to talk about their feelings.

Quentin Misiedjan, 30 years old

“Education in our culture is heavily influenced by the history of slavery. People have led hellish lives with little room for emotions, sadness, pain. Such traumas are passed on from generation to generation. If your father is your example and you never see him cry, you will reflect that on yourself, but learning is not the right way so don’t do it.

“With support group sessions, we want to teach men that it’s okay to share feelings and that other men can even help them. For example, a man recently said that he had doubts about the relationship he was in. Other men then advise her from their own experience and knowledge.”

“Men of all ages and ranks come here from all over the world. Since its inception, we have seen many of the same faces return, but we are also constantly seeing new faces.”

“We talk about fatherhood, grief and trauma”
