Three out of four Dutch people are going on a summer holiday this year and Germany, France, Spain and Italy are especially popular. But many people have no idea about possible corona measures in the target country. This is apparent from a representative survey of more than 2000 Dutch people conducted by I&O Research.
In some countries, corona measures still apply. For example, in France and Portugal, a vaccination, recovery or testing certificate may be requested upon entry. This proof is also required if you are admitted to hospital.
Slightly more than half of the respondents say they know which corona rules apply in the holiday country. Others suspect or have no idea that it may or may not be the measurement.
11% of travelers to France know that certain rules apply. For Portugal this is the third.
‘Irresponsible’
According to researcher Asher van der Schelde, we are going abroad in a different way this year. Last summer many people went on holiday to their home country. Summer also started with the corona peak.
“Last July, half of the Dutch considered it irresponsible to go on holiday abroad,” says Van der Schelde. Only 9% today. “People are returning abroad with or without corona,” he says.
Most people travel by car. 41% board a plane.
