In this case, called “unusual” by fans of the said costume, Juan Ruiz, president of the Carnival Costume Foundation in the Atlantic capital, pointed out that it is not the first time such situations have arisen.

“We are raising our voices in protest at the arbitrary arrest of Comrade Pedro Vergara for his ‘Che’ Guevara costume, who, according to police, is still imprisoned in Baranoa for wearing clothing from official military institutions,” he said.
