What can you expect today?

  • This is the second day that people can vote in municipal elections. Voters in 334 municipalities can do this in about 1,700 ballot boxes. The first polling station will open today at 6:00 am at Harderwijk station. Most others open at 7:30am. Tomorrow, many more polls will open across the country. In the two NOS programs mode and twist, Tonight, local party leaders and national party leaders will discuss and debate local themes.
  • There are also so-called student elections. In this shadow election, about 58,000 secondary and vocational students are allowed to vote.
  • The cabinet will decide which corona measures will remain in force in the coming period. It turns out that the intention was previously to lift all measures. This time it will not be a live corona press conference on television, but a press moment at the Ministry of General Affairs.
  • Ukrainian and Russian delegations continue to discuss the possible end of the war. The fourth round of talks started online yesterday and continues today.

Former Russian Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich criticized the war in Ukraine in an interview with an American magazine.

“War is the worst that can happen in life. This war too,” he said. Dvorkovich is one of the few prominent Russians to publicly criticize the war. In Russia, the use of the words “war” and “occupation” in connection with the struggle in Ukraine is prohibited. According to the Kremlin, critics who spread “false information” face up to 15 years in prison.
