New York mayor hoisted Colombian flag to celebrate his independence

The Mayor of New York, Eric Adamsthis Wednesday, for the first time in the city’s history, hoisted the Colombian flag along with that of United States to celebrate independence Dayas well as the contribution of this community to the city.

“When we raise the flag here, in the heart of our Bowling Green financial district, it sends a message to all the rich and affluent Colombian Community: that they matter, that we recognize what they have done for the city,” said the mayor, who was photographed with those in attendance dressed in traditional Colombian clothing.

Members of the Colombian community and various Colombian politicians from New York, such as state women Catalina Cruz and Natalia Fernandezstate senator Jessica Ramos and the first Colombian councilor of the New York City Council, Jennifer Gutierrez.
