USA, Joe Biden is positive for Covid. Special care for the president

A virus that spares no one. US President Joe Biden has tested positive for Covid-19. The announcement was made by the White House, stating that the president – vaccinated with four doses – has “very mild symptoms” and has started taking Paxlovid, an antiviral. Biden, according to the Washington statement, in line with guidance from health officials, will self-isolate at the White House and “continue to fully perform all of his duties” during the lockdown. He made phone contact with White House officials this morning and will attend their scheduled phone and Zoom meetings. The White House specifies that it will provide a daily update on the president’s health.

Biden, 79, did not have a fever this morning, accusing only a cold, dry cough and even a little fatigue: White House Covid-19 response coordinator Ashish Jha explained to CNN. Biden’s predecessor, Donald Trump, also contracted the virus in October 2020, when vaccines were not yet available, and was treated with experimental drugs while staying at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center for three days.
