Evidently Sultanpur Lodhi, Punjab Prime Minister Bhagwant Mann, was not aware of that basic health norm. In fact, a few days ago he was hospitalized for a serious intestinal infection, contracted in one of the most ridiculous ways: as a video posted on social media also demonstrates, Lodhi participated last Sunday in a public event to commemorate the 22nd anniversary of the cleaning of the Kali Bein River.
On the occasion, and in favor of the cameras, the political leader he dipped a glass in the riverhe extracted some water and without any precautions swallowed. His aim was, of course, to prove that the creek was indeed clean. But, of course, something went wrong.
His staff sources revealed on Tuesday that Sultanpur Lodhi accused intense abdominal pain while he was at his official residence in Chandigarh. From there he was flown in and hospitalized in Delhi. The cause of his illness was kept a secret, but the urgency with which he was placed in medical care and his earlier efforts revealed what happened. If two plus two equals four, Punjab Prime Minister Bhagwant Mann suffered intoxication after naively drinking contaminated water.
The politician would still be hospitalized in the Indian capital. After an initial scare, doctors have leaked that his condition causes no concern and he will soon be able to return to his institutional commitments.
