Despite his fear and feeling of going into the bakery, Bostic decided to go anyway. He pulled his shirt over his mouth and nose and crawled on all fours as he felt the ground, judging by howls.

He found the girl, but was so surprised that he couldn’t find the door. He managed to find the stairs and then ran upstairs with the girl in his arms. He broke a glass there. He jumped down and caused the boy to fall on the side he wasn’t holding.
Body camera images from the emergency services show him walking towards them with the girl and then falling to the ground. The girl was almost unharmed, but Bostic had inhaled severe smoke and suffered a serious injury to her arm from the broken window. He was taken to hospital where he had to be put on a ventilator.
His cousin started a crowdfunding campaign to help cover the high medical bills. Everything went so well that more than half a million dollars was raised for Bostic. His cousin reported on his crowdfunding page that Bostic has been released from the hospital and is doing well. “She was stunned by all the media attention and attention.”
An angel
Bostic also has contact with the family whose parents were not at home that evening. The cause of the fire, which destroyed the entire house, is not yet known. “But God sent us an angel,” my father emotionally told ABC News.
Bostic sees it differently. In the same interview, he says he is not a hero and is just doing what he hopes someone else will do for his family when his house burns down. “It was worth it. I kept reminding myself that I was only making a small sacrifice. This temporary pain is so worth it.”
