The left has “as an educational basis the destruction of Brazil’s history”

Brazilian federal deputy Luiz Philippe de Orléans e Bragança, a descendant of Pedro I of Brazil and IV of Portugal, believes the majority of the Brazilian left has “destroyed Brazil’s history as an educational foundation”.

“The majority of the left and center-left who have as an educational basis the destruction of Brazil’s history and the building of a utopian country based on an evolutionary process,” say Luiz Philippe de Orléans and Bragança in an interview with Lusa.

A few months before the country celebrates the bicentenary of its independence on September 7, the penta-grandson of D.Pedro I accuses the left of tampering with “the Portuguese language”.

“The ‘Brazilian language’ is now at the level of adaptation by the Brazilian Academy of Letters, which was infiltrated by various agents of the left,” he accused, emphasizing that there are sectors of the Brazilian left that want to destroy linguistic and historical references and destroy traditional concepts of meaning “and this is not good, this kills the history of Brazil”.

In the opinion of the federal deputy affiliated with the Liberal Party (PL), as well as the Brazilian president, Jair Bolsonaro, the Brazilian left “destroys every reference of origin”.

“Few people know why they speak Portuguese, the family that founded Brazil,” he says, adding that they are trying to convey the idea that “there was an indigenous nation called Pindorama that was invaded by the Portuguese.”

“It is this story that is being told to children,” he says, accusingly “This is the level of destruction by the Taliban from our left.”

The federal delegate, the first descendant of the Brazilian imperial family to hold a position of political importance since the proclamation of the Republic in 1889, also says that this phenomenon is almost exclusive to the left in Latin America, where Europe remains unscathed and with ” greater security”.

“Can’t we judge our left the way the European left is judged, does the European left want to do this level of destruction, promote a cultural revolt against its origin? I don’t think so,” he says.

The federal deputy is separating the wheat from the chaff, saying that not all the Brazilian left wants to hurt Brazilian history, “but they are not the dominant ones”.

“The predominant Brazilian left is destructive, they want to completely eradicate references”, but also, he emphasizes, “they want to eradicate any link with Europe and create a new story in children’s heads”.

For this reason, the official stressed, “the election of Jair Bolsonaro is necessary”, who will participate in the October 2 elections for the Brazilian presidency, strongly polarized with the former Brazilian head of state Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.

“I’m not going to say he [Bolsonaro] is the greatest forerunner of the issue in the history of Brazil and the greatest defender, it is not, but he does not want to destroy,” he says.
