Ukrainian authorities condemn new attacks in Odessa and port of Mykolaiv

Ukrainian military authorities on Tuesday denounced new Russian attacks in Odessa and the port of Mykolaiv, following the attacks recorded in the Black Sea over the weekend, during preparations for Ukrainian grain exports.

The missile strikes in Odessa took place in the early hours of Tuesday with no casualties, according to news agency Ukrinform.

Kiev authorities announced on Monday the resumption of grain exports by sea this week.

The announcement came after Russian attacks launched in Odessa on Saturday, a day after an agreement was signed between Russia and Ukraine, under the auspices of Turkey and the UN, to unblock Ukrainian grain exports and alleviate the humanitarian crisis. due to the scarcity of these foods.

According to Kiev, the departure of the first ships from the Black Sea will take place under this agreement, which Russia and Ukraine have signed separately.

According to his estimates, the reopening of the ports will allow for a monthly export of about three million tons of grain.

However, after Saturday’s attacks on the commercial port of Odessa, Ukraine has accused Russia of “insulting” the UN and Turkey, saying Russia must take “all responsibility” if the deal is broken.

Russia, which invaded Ukraine on February 24, initially denied any responsibility for what happened in the port of Odessa, though it later stressed that there were attacks on military targets.
