3. What does NS offer?

Earlier this week, NS put a new proposal on the table. The rates will be increased by 5 percent retroactively from 1 July. At the beginning of the year, an additional 2.5% will be added. The council also wants to “make agreements about how to deal with the uncertainty of inflation” and include a minimum wage of 14 euros in the collective labor agreement.

According to CNV, NS is still unclear specifically on this last point. “How does NS want to compensate employees for high inflation? In short, there are still questions. But for now we hope that we will get there,” says CNV director Jerry Pique. At the same time, he states that managers have responded positively to the letter with new offers from NS.

The unions are therefore again in talks with the transport company, but it is still unclear whether a satisfactory final offer will be made. That is why the strike continues today.
