Hundreds of refugees in the rain at Ter Apel application center

People took place under a quickly set up tent and bought ponchos to keep them a little dry. At the beginning of the evening, the Red Cross informed RTL Nieuws that the emergency shelter in Stadskanaal had been opened. About 200 people could be accommodated there.

no bus

COA says it will first move women and children to the Stadskanaal area. Charity organization MiGreat reported that there are no buses to take people from Ter Apel to Stadskanaal. Not everyone could go and as a result people in Ter Apel had to sleep outside again for the first time in almost two weeks.

MiGreat reported that they will hand out tents to people if nothing happens. “People are afraid to be there all night, they stay in marquees, but they are open sideways,” Ykema said last night.

Police

RTV Noord reported that the weather was still fine at the beginning of the evening, but changed later. The police support the COA on the ground. COA tells RTL Nieuws that it will do its best to accommodate everyone, and especially vulnerable groups.
