Carlos Zambrano has spoken out following a confrontation between Sporting Cristal forward Hernan Barcos and Alianza Lima manager Pablo Guede.
The Sport Boys defender was questioned about the altercation on the pitch after helping his side secure a league victory over Cusco FC.

Speaking to reporters after the match, the centre back known as El Kaiser addressed speculation surrounding a pointed message he had shared on social media shortly after the incident took place.
Zambrano said that he knew the reality of the situation and believed all his fellow professional footballers understood how things worked.
When asked directly whether his online remarks were an indirect dig aimed at the dispute between Barcos and Guede, the defender replied that people in football already knew the truth.
Social media comments on hypocrisy
The controversy erupted following the league encounter between Sporting Cristal and Alianza Lima, two of the most prominent football clubs in Peru.
During and after the match, Barcos and Argentine tactician Guede became embroiled in a visible argument that quickly dominated sporting discussions across the country.
On October 29, as public debate over the confrontation unfolded, Zambrano posted a message to his Instagram story reflecting on personal hypocrisy and people who present an outward image that contradicts their actual behaviour.
The defender wrote on social media that masks fall off on their own, a statement that immediately sparked debate over whether it was directed at the clash between the striker and the coach.
Background on key figures and rivalry
The dispute has drawn intense interest due to the stature of the individuals involved and the longstanding rivalry between Sporting Cristal and Alianza Lima.
Barcos, an experienced Argentine striker known by the nickname El Pirata, is one of the most recognisable attacking players in the Peruvian domestic competition.
Guede, who took charge of Alianza Lima following managerial spells in Argentina, Chile, Mexico and Spain, is known for his fiery sideline demeanour and tactical intensity.
Sporting Cristal and Alianza Lima, both based in Lima, share a storied rivalry that regularly produces tense encounters with significant implications for the domestic league standings.
Zambrano has long been one of the most prominent figures in Peruvian football, having earned dozens of caps for the national team and built an extensive career in Europe.
The central defender spent multiple seasons in the German Bundesliga with clubs including Schalke 04, St Pauli and Eintracht Frankfurt, as well as a spell in Argentina with Boca Juniors, earning a reputation for an aggressive, tough playing style.
He now plays his domestic football for Sport Boys, a historic club founded in 1927 in the port city of Callao, just west of Lima.
Upcoming fixture against Universitario
With attention returning to league action, Sport Boys are preparing for a demanding conclusion to round 15 of the Torneo Clausura.
The Callao club still have an outstanding fixture to fulfill from round 14 against Universitario de Deportes, another traditional powerhouse of Peruvian football.
That rescheduled league match is set to be played on Wednesday, November 14, with kickoff scheduled for 8.30 p.m. local Peruvian time.
The game will take place at the Estadio Monumental in Lima, the home venue of Universitario and the largest stadium in Peru, where Sport Boys will look to maintain momentum following their recent triumph over Cusco FC.
