According to figures provided by the regional government, the projects will create 21 new jobs and consolidate 108 existing positions at the beneficiary firms. The non-refundable aid is awarded through the Regional Incentives for Business Investment program, which primarily supports small and medium-sized enterprises. The subsidies help finance fixed assets required to launch new investments, expand businesses, or modernize facilities and equipment.

Beneficiary sectors and business activities

The selected projects reflect the diversity of business activity in Extremadura. In the services sector, supported initiatives include tourism, accommodation, catering, hospitality, and thermal spa activities. The funding also covers healthcare and specialized services such as dentistry, diagnostic testing, nutrition, and water analysis.

Industrial and manufacturing activities are also included in the allocation. Grants will support investments in wood carpentry, upholstery, steel element manufacturing, refrigeration, and construction. Within the agrifood sector, supported projects focus on food and confectionery production, as well as ice distribution operations.

Investment guidelines and funding rules

The financial aid is designed to cover fixed asset investments for small and medium-sized businesses. Funding can be used for civil works, installations, machinery acquisition, capital equipment, and technology solutions for Industry 4.0. The program also funds investments aimed at generational succession to guarantee the continuity of traditional businesses and prevent closures.

To qualify for the program, projects must involve a minimum investment of 25,000 euros and cannot exceed 1.2 million euros. Beneficiary companies must provide at least 25 percent of the total project cost through their own funds or external financing.

Overall program funding and European support

The Regional Government of Extremadura increased the total budget for the current call from an initial 40 million euros to 96 million euros. Since the application process began, the regional administration has approved 931 files. In total, these approvals represent 71.7 million euros in subsidies and have mobilized a global investment of 233.6 million euros in the region.

The subsidies are funded through the FEDER Extremadura 2021 to 2027 Operational Program, which covers 85 percent of the total costs. Large companies are excluded from this European Union funding mechanism, which focuses specifically on strengthening small and medium-sized enterprises.

Application deadline and submission process

Companies can continue to submit new investment projects under the program until December 31, 2026. Applications must be submitted online through the virtual office of Extremadura Empresarial.

Under the direct grant system, applications that fulfill all program requirements are granted subsidies as long as budget remains available. Regional officials stated that the latest allocation maintains the region's strategy of using public funds to stimulate private investment, modernize businesses, and support employment.
