Inter&Co, the holding company that controls Grupo Inter, reported a series of record figures for the second quarter of 2026, including a 34% jump in net profit compared with the same period last year, reaching R$421 million.
The company's results also showed increases in net revenue, its credit portfolio, its client base and total deposits. Inter also highlighted early success with the "Rule of 50," a growth and profitability metric it introduced in May of this year.
In a statement on the results, Inter's Global CEO, João Vitor Menin, said the performance showed the company's ability to grow sustainably, pointing to the strength of the Inter by Design model and the company's focus on generating value for its customers.
Inter&Co is the holding company behind Grupo Inter, a Brazilian digital banking group known as Banco Inter, which offers banking, credit, investment and payment services through its app-based platform.
Client numbers and engagement
Inter reached 26.4 million active clients in the second quarter of 2026, with an activation rate, the share of people who begin using its products, of 58.3%. Over the past 12 months, the platform added 3.7 million new active clients.
Daily logins averaged 22 million, up from 18 million in the same period a year earlier. Average daily financial transactions also rose, climbing from 26 million in June 2025 to 32 million in June 2026.
Credit portfolio growth
Inter's diversified credit portfolio grew 29% year-on-year, driven by market share gains in key segments. According to Inter, this growth was more than three times the pace of the broader Brazilian market over the same period.
Private payroll-deductible credit reached R$2.8 billion. Home equity and real estate financing expanded 37%, while the credit card portfolio rose 23% year-on-year.
Revenue and deposits
Inter's diversified revenue mix produced 29% growth in gross revenue, reaching R$4.6 billion, and 32% growth in net revenue, reaching R$2.6 billion.
The platform also recorded higher deposits in the quarter, with total deposits reaching R$77 billion, a 24% increase, and 9 million investor clients.
Term deposits expanded 27% year-on-year. Meu Porquinho, Inter's savings product, remained one of the main contributors to that growth, with R$10.3 billion invested by more than 4 million clients.
How the Rule of 50 is performing
The "Rule of 50" is the metric Inter has adopted as its main guide for growth and profitability over the next three years. It complements the company's existing 60/30/30 plan and adds a new layer of financial discipline to its business strategy.
Although only announced recently, at Inter's Owners' Day in May of this year, the second-quarter 2026 figures already show the metric in action.
The Rule of 50 is inspired by the "Rule of 40," a benchmark popular among technology companies in the United States, which holds that a company's growth rate plus its profitability should together exceed 40%.
With total net revenue growth of 31.7% year-on-year combined with a return on equity of 16.3%, Inter's result already reaches 48%, close to the 50% target the company has set for itself.
