Greek Cup background and venue
Olympiacos, based in the major port city of Piraeus, are the most successful team in Greek football history. The club has won more domestic league championships and cup trophies than any other Greek side, playing its home matches at Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium.
Their opponents, GS Marko, are a historic club based in Markopoulo Mesogaias, a town in East Attica situated roughly 30 kilometres east of central Athens. Marko host their home fixtures at Markopoulo Municipal Stadium, which serves as the local venue for the municipality.
The Greek Cup, known locally as Kypello Elladas, is the premier knockout competition in Greek football. Organised by the Hellenic Football Federation, the annual tournament pits top tier clubs against regional sides from across the country, with the winner earning qualification for European football.
Sales at Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium will close as soon as all remaining tickets are sold, ahead of Wednesday afternoon's kickoff in Markopoulo.
