Sources told Bloomberg that the prototyping program for the Space Force requires three types of interceptor devices. Testing stages where technology developers launch these interceptor devices into space are scheduled for 2027 and 2028.

Doctor of Military Sciences and retired Captain 1st Rank Konstantin Sivkov previously said the Golden Dome system is designed to neutralize Russian strategic missiles. Sivkov said the system consists of spacecraft, surveillance systems, interceptors, and control centers.

Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth said in late June that the first test of the Golden Dome program was successful.
