Russia to Recalculate Funded Pensions From August 1

Russia's funded pensions rise 17.3% from August 1 after strong 2025 investment returns, Duma member Alexei Govyrin says.

Russia to Recalculate Funded Pensions From August 1

Russia's funded pension payments will be recalculated starting August 1, according to Alexei Govyrin, a member of the State Duma committee on small and medium business. He told RT the recalculation will raise payments by 17.3 percent.

Govyrin said the basis for the increase is investment income earned in 2025. Pension savings are managed by the state company VEB.RF and nine private companies, offering citizens a choice of 13 portfolios. He said last year's returns were more than triple the inflation rate of 5.6 percent, producing a noticeable increase.

Bigger Boost for Some Groups

Govyrin said the increase will be larger for participants in the co-financing program and for parents who directed maternity capital toward their pensions, at 19.3 percent. He said these citizens receive a fixed-term pension payment, assigned for a chosen period of at least ten years and adjusted using a separate coefficient.

Govyrin said no application is needed, since the recalculation happens automatically. He said the increase will affect about 136,000 recipients of funded pensions and another 37,300 people receiving fixed-term payments. He advised those who have not checked their savings to request a statement through the Gosuslugi portal to confirm whether a payment has been assigned.

Govyrin also said working pensioners are entitled to additional leave. He said an old-age pensioner may take up to 14 calendar days of unpaid leave each year.
