A Moscow arbitration court has approved a request from DNS Retail, part of the DNS group, to declare Kvant LLC bankrupt, the legal entity behind the Irbis television brand. Kommersant reported the ruling, citing arbitration court records.
Irbis is the only television brand listed in the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade's registry of domestic radio-electronic products. Production of Irbis TVs stopped more than a year ago because of low demand tied to their prices.
At the time, DNS group representatives said the Irbis brand was no more domestically made than other TVs on the market, though the manufacturer had invested significant effort in getting it included in the registry.
Debt and creditors
Kvant's debt to DNS Retail is estimated at 654.6 million rubles. In May, the arbitration court approved petitions from 24 additional creditors to join the bankruptcy case.
Earlier reports said the Russian television market grew 10 percent in volume in the first half of 2026, to 3.48 million units, and 2.3 percent in value, to 97.6 billion rubles, driven mainly by strong sales of the cheapest devices.
