Lucas Paulano, a 10-year-old singer from Jaen, will represent Spain at Junior Eurovision 2026, taking over from Gonzalo Pinillos. The competition is set to take place on October 24 in Malta, though the song he will perform has not yet been finalised.
Paulano first came to national attention in 2025 when he won the Antena 3 talent show La Voz Kids at just eight years old. During the blind auditions, his performance of Luz de luna prompted judges David Bisbal, Edurne and Manuel Turizo to turn their chairs, and he also triggered a double super-block during the competition.
Born in 2016, Paulano made his first public appearance at a Peace Day event at his school. His father, who taught him to sing and accompanied him on guitar during La Voz Kids, has been central to his development as a performer.
Stage experience beyond the contest
His coach on La Voz Kids, Manuel Turizo, invited Paulano to perform at three dates on his Spanish tour, where the young singer appeared before thousands of spectators in Granada, Madrid and Seville. He has also performed at official events, including a reception hosted by the King and Queen of Spain during their official visit to Jaen.
In December, Paulano released his debut single, Todo sigue igual. Alongside his performing career, he studies piano at the Conservatorio Profesional de Musica Ramon Garay in Jaen and writes new songs with composer and producer Alejandro Jaen.
Paulano described his musical influences as ranging from folklore and rancheras to artists such as Rocio Jurado, Luis Miguel and Camilo Sesto, alongside contemporary figures including Saiko, Quevedo and Turizo. Outside music, he said he is passionate about football, swimming, cooking and science.
