The Institute for Education, Quality and Assessment, known as EduQA, sent the complete first-phase Portuguese exam of a Viseu student on Saturday, after weeks in which the student had access to only a third of the paper. The student, named Martim, had received a grade of 4.6 out of 20 on the exam.
His father, Paulo Duarte, said in Monday's edition of Correio da Manhã that he wants to know everything that happened with his son's exam.
Missing answer sheet
EduQA said that in the Viseu case, the exam had been missing the sheet containing the student's answers to the multiple-choice questions. The institute said the complete exam was sent to the school, which then delivered it to the student's guardian.
EduQA added that the deadline for any request to have the exam reviewed would now be counted from the date the student gained access to the full paper, so as to guarantee that right could still be exercised.
The institute also said that, as of now, it had not received any judicial notification regarding the matter.
Father goes to court
Paulo Duarte told Correio da Manhã that he had filed an injunction with the Administrative Court of Viseu over the missing exam material.
Martim's mother, Sofia Castro, has also been involved in the case alongside Paulo Duarte as the family pushes for answers about what happened to their son's exam.
