Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis arrived in Lamia wearing Meta Ray-Ban smart glasses and told attendees with a smile to watch out because he was recording them. Georgiadis was attending an event for the receipt of new ambulances by the Region of Central Greece.
The minister posted a video clip of the moment on his personal X account. He captioned the post by stating he arrived in Lamia a short while ago and had great fun with the glasses.
Privacy Concerns and Response
His appearance comes a few days after reactions were sparked by his use of the same glasses during visits to Lemnos and Leros. Political parties and social media users expressed concern about the photography and video recording capabilities of the glasses, raising issues of personal data protection and compliance with current legal frameworks.
Georgiadis previously responded to criticism in a post, calling the complaints unfounded. He stated the glasses are used legally and that he will not stop wearing them, explaining he chose the model for practical, aesthetic, and personal safety reasons, noting they cost about 600 euros.
