AEK and Athens Kallithea will honor Michalis Katsouris during tonight's friendly match at Allwyn Arena, marking three years since his murder. Entrance to the 20:00 match is free for supporters as a symbolic gesture in memory of Katsouris. Before kickoff, both teams will pay tribute in front of Gate 21 and observe a minute of silence.
Outside the club's stadium in Nea Filadelfeia, the AEK flag is flying at half-mast today. An image of Katsouris will also be displayed on the screen matrix at Eagle Square.
Tributes and Black Armbands
AEK players will wear black armbands during the match as a sign of mourning for Katsouris. The team is also wearing the armbands to honor Kostas Liakkas, an employee at AEK's training center in Spata who died suddenly.
AEK stated in an announcement that Liakkas was one of the most beloved workers at the Spata facility and an integral part of daily life for squad members. The club added that his unexpected loss brought widespread sadness across the football department.
