The emphatic victory caught the attention of Spanish sports newspaper AS, which described the Greek champions as a new threat to Europe's major teams ahead of the upcoming League Phase draw.
Serbian forward Luka Jovic led the way for AEK, opening the scoring after just seven minutes with an impressive header worthy of a top goalscorer. The 28-year-old striker has made an ideal start to the season, having already scored twice in AEK's domestic league opener before putting his team on course for European qualification, earning him another opportunity to shine on Europe's biggest stages.

In its coverage of the match, AS emphasized that AEK's performance involved far more than Jovic alone. Hungarian forward Barnabas Varga and Croatian midfielder Lovro Majer also stood out in what the Spanish publication praised as an exceptional overall team display by the Athenian club.
