Alonso Grimaldo, a businessman and engineer, shared a pointed message on social media stating that if she does not call, that is not his problem, shortly after denying Carla Campos Salazar's account of their relationship and claiming she had tried to reach him during a trip to Argentina that was paid for by Curwen, her former fiance.
In a recent interview for a digital program, Grimaldo said he reached out to Campos after Peruvian entertainment show "Magaly TV, la firme" aired footage showing the two of them together. He said Campos also tried to contact him during the Argentina trip, though the two were unable to meet because of scheduling conflicts.
The remarks followed weeks of speculation over whether Campos had been unfaithful to Curwen. Many social media users voiced support for Grimaldo after his comments.
TikTok posts add to the controversy
After the interview, and after Campos issued her own statement denying any kiss or romantic relationship with him, Grimaldo created a TikTok account. His first post on the platform denied that he is gay, responding to a suggestion Campos had made.
Grimaldo, who lives permanently in Argentina, further stoked the controversy by resharing videos from users who supported him. One clip he reposted described him as returning to Argentina after ruining an engagement and calling off a wedding.
He also shared a second clip referencing Campos's description of him as her "sister," accompanied by a caption questioning why people were turning Alonso into a gender-neutral friend, and urging them to be serious.
Grimaldo then posted a video set to a song whose lyrics included the line that it was not his fault he was the one she liked, a post many read as a pointed message aimed at Campos amid the growing dispute.

The term is widely used across Peruvian entertainment media to describe this kind of exposé.
Campos denies any romance with Grimaldo
Campos addressed the speculation over a possible infidelity to Curwen, explaining what happened on the night she was filmed with Grimaldo. She said she had waited for the situation to calm down before giving her account and clarifying the nature of her bond with the businessman, whom she affectionately calls "Grimi."
She said she has known him for several years and that the two maintain a friendship, sharing videos of themselves together at different times and events as evidence of their long-standing relationship. She also denied that there had been a kiss between them.
Responding to the speculation that followed the broadcast, Campos was emphatic, saying she had never had anything with Grimaldo, absolutely nothing, never, and making clear that no bond exists between them beyond friendship.
