The Amur River is set to rise almost another half a metre and exceed the danger mark near Khabarovsk, the Telegram channel Amur Mash reported.
The lower tier of the city embankment has already gone underwater. The river level has reached 411 centimetres and continues to climb, with hydrologists forecasting it will pass 4.5 metres by the weekend.
Islands at risk
Flooding threatens the islands of Dachny, Kabelny and Bolshoy Ussuriysky. Construction of a border crossing point with China is currently underway on Bolshoy Ussuriysky, and the flood could affect the work, according to the report.
Earlier flooding in Primorye
Heavy rains earlier flooded 16 houses and 182 plots of land in Primorye, according to the report. The buildings are located in the Spassk-Dalny municipal district, while the land plots span four different municipalities. The bad weather also disrupted power supply in the Anuchinsky district and transport links in seven districts.
