System files in the beta version of iOS 27 contain references to six unannounced iPhone models, according to reports first published by Macworld and confirmed by MacRumors. The details were discovered in system files linked to battery drivers and the Battery Intelligence feature.
The leaked code lists internal model designations for the upcoming devices: V62 for the iPhone Air 2, V63 for the iPhone 18 Pro, V64 for the iPhone 18 Pro Max, V67 for the iPhone 18, V68 for the iPhone Ultra, and V69 for the iPhone 18e. This marks the first time the entire iPhone 18 lineup has appeared within iOS 27 code.
The findings indicate that Apple is proceeding with a second generation of the ultrathin iPhone Air, despite previous insider reports claiming the project had been canceled.
iPhone Ultra and Release Timeline
Apple is also preparing to introduce the iPhone Ultra, a device long discussed in industry rumors. Bloomberg reported in March 2026 that Apple was developing a super-premium Ultra tier, which is expected to be the company's first foldable smartphone. Earlier test builds of iOS 27 also referenced an iPhone model with two batteries, a configuration common in foldable phones.
